Today I drew my first character. I drew Sully from Monsters Inc. It looks pretty good to me and hopefully it will to you guys, too. I am kind of afraid that I will not finish everything that I want to accomplish on this project before the due date. I wish that we could do it on more than just Fridays, but it is what it is.

Needs and Opportunities

This project is a passion of mine. I like to draw and to see what I’ve drawn later. This will be a growing experience for me because I will put my best effort into the drawings and see what I’m capable of. My goal is to have a lot of well drawn sketches by the time the project is due.

Audience / Clients / Users

I and other will benefit from this project. I will be able to practice my sketching skills and people will be able to enjoy looking at them. Anyone could be interesting in looking at my blog. I don’t think there could be anyone who hates looking at sketches.

Mentors

My mentors for this project could be websites that help me figure out how to draw certain things. I will not need to contact anyone to help me with this project.

Timeline

What is your monthly timeline for this project? I want to see a list of deliverables with deadlines. You may find that the timeline needs adjustment during the course of the year, which may be fine. Check in with me if that’s the case.

February 17	Make a list of which characters I will draw.
February 24	Start Character 1.
March 3	Finish Character 1. Start Character 2.
March 10	Finish Character 2. Start Character 3.
March 24	Finish Character 3. Start Character 4.
March 31	Finish Character 4. Start Character 5.
April 7	Finish Character 5. Start Character 6.
April 14	Finish Character 6. Have a tri-fold board or poster board.
April 21	Plan out where I will put everything on the board.
April 28	Attach everything to board. Have colors.
May 5 (Prep for Presentation Day)	Prepare speech for presentation day.
May 12 (Presentation Day)	Present.

Product

I will bring in a tri-fold or poster board with my sketches on it. The sketches will not have color but the board will.

Technology

For this project I will video a time lapse of me drawing one of my characters on my phone. I could then send this the Smart Board we will be using and show the video.

Reality Check

For this project I will need lots of pencils and paper. I will need a board for my presentation and some colors. The only cost I will have is the board.

Possible Roadblocks

A roadblock for me might be a disappointing sketch or maybe a missing sketch. If this happens I will just have to start over the sketch.

Conclusion

I am fired up about this project because I am excited to see what I can put on a piece of paper. I am excited to see what others think of my sketches.
